Shipping, Furniture and Car Moving Company from Jeddah to Jordan 0506688227 A Northern Route That Does Not Pass Riyadh
Guide summary

Shipping furniture, vehicles and cargo from Jeddah to Amman, Zarqa, Irbid and Aqaba — and Jordan is the first destination in the Jeddah series to step outside the Gulf rules entirely. Your route climbs north through Madinah and Tabuk to Halat Ammar and never passes Riyadh, and your file is opened twice rather than once because Jordan sits outside the customs union. Your vehicle's duty is not five per cent but a different system that may reach a large proportion of its value — and we calculate it before you book. And one advantage remains that only Jeddah holds: Aqaba Port on your own sea. The guide covers the ISPM 15 stamp, the final homecoming move and the effects exemption.

Looking for a shipping company from Jeddah to Jordan that knows the difference between its route and Riyadh’s? Tiger Cargo Express ships furniture, vehicles and cargo from Jeddah to Amman, Zarqa, Irbid, Salt and Aqaba. To book: 0506688227

On four earlier Gulf destinations we told you the same thing: the road from Jeddah is longer. And that was true because the Gulf lies east and Jeddah lies west.

Jordan is the first destination where that reverses. Your route from Jeddah climbs directly north through Madinah and Tabuk to the Halat Ammar crossing — and never passes through Riyadh at all. That is an entirely different route rather than merely a difference in kilometres.

1,200km to the crossing

The northern road — the first destination that does not pass Riyadh

And more follows from that than appears at first.

All our Gulf shipments from Jeddah head east and so pass through Riyadh before continuing. Your shipment to Jordan does not — it takes the northern coastal road or the inland route through Madinah, then Tabuk, then the crossing.

The stage Approximate distance Note
Jeddah to Madinah Around 420 km The northern route begins
Madinah to Tabuk Around 690 km The longest leg of the journey
Tabuk to Halat Ammar crossing Around 190 km Reaching the border
Total inside the Kingdom Around 1,300 km Without passing Riyadh
The crossing to Amman Around 330 km Inside Jordan
And why does knowing the route matter to you?For three practical reasons. First, anyone pricing you on the basis of passing through Riyadh adds a distance never covered. Second, the northern road crosses mountainous areas with temperature swings, so the load needs securing suited to gradients rather than level roads. Third, the consolidation points differ — anyone consolidating in Riyadh makes your cargo travel east and then north for no reason.

And we consolidate in Jeddah and climb straight north

Consolidated in Jeddah, not RiyadhYour cargo moves in its correct direction from the first kilometre.
Securing suited to gradientsThe northern road climbs and descends, and a load shifts on a slope rather than on the level.
Two drivers who know the roadNot every Gulf driver knows the Tabuk route — and road familiarity is no detail.

And Aqaba Port — an option nobody mentions

And Jeddah alone among the Kingdom’s cities has it.

Aqaba Port — a sea option nobody mentions when shipping from Jeddah
Jeddah and Aqaba sit on one sea, and that is what Riyadh does not have.

Look at the map for a moment. Jeddah sits on the Red Sea, and Aqaba sits on the Red Sea — with a direct sea line between them that rounds nothing and passes through no canal.

And this is what Riyadh and Dammam do not have. Anyone departing from them needs nine hundred road kilometres to Jeddah port before even considering the sea — and then the question remains: why sail when road is available?

Criterion Road via Halat Ammar Sea, Jeddah to Aqaba
Pre-leg to the port Not applicable Zero — the port is in your city
The route 1,300 km inside the Kingdom A direct sailing on the Red Sea
Duration 3 to 5 days By schedule
Best for Furniture, parcels and vehicles Containers and cargo for the economic zone
Delivery in Amman Direct + an inland leg of around 330 km
Delivery in Aqaba + a long inland leg At the port itself
And when do we actually recommend it?In two cases and no more. The first is that your destination is Aqaba itself or its special economic zone — sea brings you to your door while road crosses the whole of Jordan north to south. The second is that your cargo is a full container or a large commercial consignment. But furniture bound for Amman or Irbid clearly suits road better — and we say so even though the port sits at our doorstep.

Furniture moving from Jeddah to Jordan

Furniture moving from Jeddah to Jordan — the mirror in a lined timber crate
Carrying the ISPM 15 stamp that customs requires.

We visit you first and measure what you have with no fee, and a carpenter comes with us to take apart whatever needs it. Then the pieces are wrapped and given their numbers, then your cargo climbs north through Tabuk, so you receive it in Amman as standing rooms rather than stacked boxes.

What the service includes

A visit at no chargeAny district in Jeddah, and we charge you neither for the survey nor the estimate.
The same hands from start to finishNo middleman and no second contractor — whoever dismantled at your home assembles on arrival.
Air conditioners, curtains and chandeliers removedNot the furniture alone — everything fixed into a wall or ceiling.
Timber crating with an approved stampFor mirrors, marble and valuable pieces, carrying the ISPM 15 stamp customs requires.
An inventory backing your exemptionItem and count for every box — which is what preserves the personal effects exemption.
We leave nothing behindWe restore the furniture to its form and take every carton and strip of tape with us.

What is the ISPM 15 stamp and why does it matter to you?

When we crate your mirror or your marble in a timber box, it is not enough for the timber to be sturdy. Raw timber is subject to international plant quarantine requirements, and an unstamped crate may be held at the border or ordered replaced.

The situation What happens The hidden cost
An untreated timber crate It may be refused or ordered treated Delay and re-crating at the border
A crate stamped ISPM 15 It passes without question Nothing — the cost sits inside the quote
Untreated timber pallets Exactly the same problem Unloading and reloading
Reused timber with no stamp Refusal remains possible Replacement in a place you did not choose
Cardboard alone for the mirror It passes customs but does not protect it A mirror arriving broken
And this is why we always use stamped timberNot a luxury but the avoidance of a border problem. A company crating with untreated timber saves riyals in Jeddah and exposes your cargo to standing at the Halat Ammar crossing. And this is a line you never see in a quote and nobody asks about — but it shows the day the file stops.

And notice the Aqaba columnIt is the highest by road because Aqaba lies at Jordan’s far south — the cargo enters from the north at Halat Ammar and then crosses the whole country. And here in particular we suggest costing sea for you — it may bring you to your door rather than crossing the country end to end. And nobody offers that suggestion because nobody thinks of Aqaba as a port.

Car shipping from Jeddah to Jordan

Car shipping from Jeddah to Jordan — the duty here is not five per cent
We calculate it before you book rather than after it arrives.

Shipping a vehicle is a separate service, and Jordan here differs from the Gulf fundamentally: it sits outside the customs union, and its vehicle duty is not five per cent.

What precedes its loading

1Settling any finance on itIts papers will not be accepted while a bank remains a party, so it is paid and a clearance issued.
2Withdrawing it from the traffic registerThrough Absher its plates are removed and it is recorded as bound for departure.
3Obtaining the export paperWith it the crossing confirms it is no longer registered inside the Kingdom.
4Calculating the Jordanian dutyAnd this is the most important thing we do before you pay a riyal.
5Photographing it before it is liftedA full circuit with the camera plus a close shot of any existing mark.
6Lifting, crossing and handoverIt is strapped, crosses Halat Ammar, then reaches whoever awaits it.
Vehicle type Recommended carrier Shipping price Transit
Saloon and small cars Open, shared carrier SAR 2,500 – 3,800 3 to 5 days
Family SUV Open, shared carrier SAR 3,000 – 4,500 3 to 5 days
Luxury and sports Enclosed SAR 4,500 – 7,200 3 to 5 days
Classic Dedicated enclosed SAR 6,100 – 10,200 By arrangement
Non-running Hydraulic low-loader By condition After survey
And Jordanian duty is not five per cent — the most important line on this pageIn the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain the duty was a uniform five per cent under the customs union. Jordan sits outside that union, and its vehicle duty is calculated under a different system taking account of model year, engine capacity and type. And in some cases the duty may reach a large proportion of the vehicle’s own value. Send us the model year, trim, engine capacity and fuel type and we give you an estimate before you book — and if it turns out that selling it here costs less we say so plainly and lose the job, because discovering the figure after it arrives leaves you facing a fait accompli.

Two files rather than one unified declaration

Two files rather than one unified declaration — Jordan sits outside the Gulf customs union
So the formalities are two independent declarations.

In our Gulf articles we kept saying: one customs declaration under the union. And here that ends — Jordan is not a member of the Gulf customs union.

The item The Gulf Jordan
The customs declaration Unified Two independent declarations
Vehicle duty A uniform 5% An entirely different system
Clearance One side Two sides: Saudi and Jordanian
Formalities duration Hours It may stretch to a day
The effects exemption On eased conditions On stricter conditions with proofs
And what does that mean in practice? That your file is opened twice rather than once: an export declaration on the Saudi side and an import declaration on the Jordanian side. Each has its own documents and its own duration. And a company copying Gulf text onto a Jordanian page promises you a speed that does not exist — because it never counted the second file. We prepare both files two days before loading rather than after arrival.

Where does your shipment’s time go?

At your home One to two days We survey, dismantle, wrap and number
Preparing both files Two days before loading Saudi export and Jordanian import
Jeddah to Tabuk 13 to 16 hours Via Madinah
Tabuk to the crossing Two to three hours Reaching Halat Ammar

The crossing to Amman 4 to 5 hours Around 330 km
At your consignee’s Half a day to a day Unloading, assembly and waste removal
Notice the two highlighted rowsBoth files are prepared before loading rather than after — and that is what prevents standing at the crossing. And the crossing time here is double its Gulf counterpart because clearance comes from two sides rather than one. Anyone promising you a Gulf crossing time on a Jordanian lane has not counted the difference.

Documents required

For your furniture and belongings

  • Your identity document valid and photographed legibly
  • Your passport — required here unlike the Gulf destinations
  • Whoever awaits it in Jordan: name, number, city and full address
  • A box-by-box inventory — we write it while you stand with us
  • Proof of your relocation or return if you want the personal effects exemption
  • An authorisation on Fasah — we prepare it and send it for your approval

For your vehicle

  • A valid registration bearing nobody’s name but yours
  • A statement that the finance ended, wherever it existed
  • Evidence its plates were cancelled on Absher
  • The traffic department’s approval for its departure
  • The invoice or sale contract establishing its value
  • Full vehicle details: model year, engine capacity and fuel type

For a commercial shipment

  • An invoice hiding no description and reducing no value
  • A statement per parcel: what is in it, its weight and its measurements
  • The company’s registration in force
  • Its tax number
  • A certificate of origin — asked for here more than in the Gulf

Prohibited and restricted items

Absolutely prohibited

  • Narcotics and psychotropic substances in every form
  • Weapons, ammunition and their parts
  • Radioactive and toxic materials
  • Counterfeit goods
  • Material contrary to public morals
  • Cash and gold within ordinary shipments

Categories with entry conditions

The category Its restriction What is asked of you
Your own medicines They do not cross without medical support An approved report or prescription, and a purely personal quantity
Perfumes and sterilising agents Treated as flammable materials A sealed container and disclosure before stacking
Wireless communication devices Subject to spectrum regulation Notified to us early so approval can be issued
Appliances in their original boxes Read as new goods rather than effects The purchase invoice with an explicit declaration
Agricultural products and seeds Plant quarantine on both sides A phytosanitary certificate
Preserved foodstuffs Health checked before entry A shelf life of no less than seven days
And the timber crates themselves fall under quarantineWe mentioned the ISPM 15 stamp in the furniture section, and repeat it here because many assume it concerns goods alone. It concerns every piece of timber in your shipment: pallets, crates and separators. And plant quarantine on this lane is stricter than in the Gulf, because Jordan is an independent party with its own procedures.

The final homecoming move — and the personal effects exemption

A large share of this lane’s shipments are a final return by a Jordanian resident after years in the Kingdom. And such a shipment differs from any other: everything a family gathered travels once, and a substantial sum turns on its customs classification.

The condition What it means How we help you with it
That the goods are used Not new in factory wrapping We separate the new and declare it independently
That they are for your home, not your shop Personal rather than commercial use The inventory shows that by item and count
Proof of relocation or return A paper supporting your position We explain what is usually accepted
A detailed inventory, not a general description ‘Used family clothing — 40 items’ We draw it up with you at loading
That it excludes a vehicle A vehicle is always a separate regime We calculate its duty separately
And confusing new with used is the most dangerous thing hereA returning family usually buys new appliances before travelling. And their presence in factory wrapping inside an effects shipment can push the whole shipment out of its classification. So tell us what you bought new so we separate it on the declaration — rather than having the whole home read as goods.

For those shipping boxes rather than homes

You may have no more than a carton or two for your family in Irbid. We accept them with no count condition, and each one’s share falls as the count rises.

Carton count Approximate price per carton Note
One carton SAR 270 – 400 Up to 30 kg
Two cartons SAR 240 – 345 The fixed cost divides
Three to five SAR 200 – 290 The most common for family consignments
Six to ten SAR 170 – 250 Clearly the cheapest
More than ten SAR 145 – 215 By count and city

And offices have their own table

Item Price range Note
A full single workstation SAR 410 – 760 Including dismantling and wrapping the screen
Meeting table SAR 980 – 1,700 Dismantled and wrapped with reinforced corners
Filing cabinet SAR 230 – 480 Per unit, emptied before lifting
Servers and IT equipment SAR 1,250 – 3,100 Stamped timber crates and anti-static wrapping
A full office (10 staff) SAR 5,800 – 9,900 An all-in package with numbering and inventory
Numbering follows the person rather than the spaceTwenty desks in one hall, all identical in shape and size. If the boxes carried the hall’s name our team would keep guessing which device belongs to which desk. The moment every item is tied to its owner’s name, the guessing ends and direct distribution begins.

How to compare two quotes on this lane

Five questions — and the first reveals who knows the route.

1Which road does my truck climb? The right answer: Madinah, then Tabuk, then Halat Ammar. Anyone naming Riyadh is pricing you a surplus distance.
2When are both sides’ papers prepared?Jordan sits outside the union, so both files must precede loading rather than begin at the crossing.
3Exactly how much is my vehicle’s duty?It is not five per cent here. Anyone answering with that has not distinguished Jordan from the Gulf.
4Are your timber crates stamped?ISPM 15 — and untreated timber stops at the border rather than in the warehouse.
5My destination is Aqaba — did you cost sea?Jeddah and Aqaba sit on one sea. Anyone not mentioning it did not know your advantage.
An example of the wrong comparisonA quote of SAR 3,800 looks cheaper than ours at 4,400 for a two-bedroom flat. But ask about your vehicle’s duty if you are shipping it too: if the answer is ‘five per cent’ they are copying a Gulf figure — and the real difference may run to thousands you discover on arrival. Six hundred riyals does not offset a surprise of that size.

What we guarantee and what we do not

A direct northern routeConsolidated in Jeddah and climbing via Tabuk — no Riyadh detour and no surplus distance.
Both files before loadingSaudi export and Jordanian import — prepared two days ahead rather than at the crossing.
Your vehicle’s duty calculatedUnder Jordan’s system rather than the Gulf’s five per cent — before you book.
Timber stamped ISPM 15For every crate, pallet and separator — so your file does not stop at plant quarantine.

And we are frank about our limits: congestion at Halat Ammar in season belongs to no carrier, and Jordanian customs’ assessment of a vehicle’s value is not our decision. We will not promise you a thirty per cent discount nor that we are “the cheapest company” — but an honest duty calculation before you pay, and a route that adds not one kilometre you do not need.

How to reduce your shipping cost

Method Expected saving How
Calculate your vehicle’s duty first It can exceed everything below it Selling it here may cost less than shipping it plus duty
Dismantle everything possible 20 to 35% A dismantled wardrobe takes a third of its volume
Separate the new from the used It protects your exemption Mixing them can push the shipment out of its classification
Gather your boxes 25 to 40% The box price falls plainly with the count
Ask about sea for Aqaba Up to 20% If your destination is southern Jordan
Book outside peak seasons 10 to 15% Summer is the residents’ return season and peak demand

When does transit lengthen on this lane?

  • Summer — the Jordanian residents’ return season and peak demand
  • Holiday seasons — pressure on the Halat Ammar crossing
  • The end and start of the school year
  • Periods of intensive customs review on either side
  • Weather on the northern road — cold and fog around Tabuk in winter

Five recurring mistakes — all of them avoidable

Assuming vehicle duty is five per centThat is a Gulf figure, and Jordan sits outside the union. Its duty is calculated under a different system that may reach a large proportion of the vehicle’s value.
Accepting a quote that routes through RiyadhYour road climbs north through Madinah and Tabuk. Anyone consolidating in Riyadh makes your cargo travel east and then north for no reason.
Delaying preparation of the Jordanian fileTwo declarations, not one. Anyone starting the second file at the crossing makes your cargo wait for what should have preceded it.
Unstamped timber in the cratingISPM 15 concerns every piece of timber in your shipment rather than goods alone. And untreated timber stops at the border.
Shipping to Aqaba by road without costing seaJeddah and Aqaba sit on one sea. Road enters from the north and then crosses the whole of Jordan southward.

Frequently asked questions about shipping from Jeddah to Jordan

Which road does the shipment take?North through Madinah, then Tabuk, then the Halat Ammar crossing — and it never passes Riyadh. This is the first lane in our Jeddah series that does not head east. The distance inside the Kingdom is around thirteen hundred kilometres, then around three hundred and thirty from the crossing to Amman.
How long does a shipment from Jeddah to Jordan take?Three to five days. But note that the crossing time here is double its Gulf counterpart — six to fourteen hours — because clearance comes from two sides rather than one.
Why do you say the duty is not five per cent?Because Jordan sits outside the Gulf customs union. Its vehicle duty is calculated under a different system taking model year, engine capacity and type into account, and it may reach a large proportion of the vehicle’s value. Anyone answering ‘five per cent’ is copying a Gulf figure onto a lane that is not Gulf.
What is Aqaba Port and why do you mention it?Because Jeddah and Aqaba sit on the Red Sea — with a direct sea line between them. And this is an advantage Riyadh and Dammam do not have. We recommend it in two cases: that your destination is Aqaba or its economic zone, or that your cargo is a full container. But furniture bound for Amman suits road better.
How much does moving a flat from Jeddah to Jordan cost?A two-bedroom flat is SAR 4,400 to 6,600 for Amman and Zarqa, and SAR 4,900 to 7,300 for Aqaba. The figure covers everything from our entering your home to assembling the last piece.
What is the ISPM 15 stamp and why does it matter to me?It is a stamp proving the timber was treated to international plant quarantine requirements. And it concerns every piece of timber in your shipment: crates, pallets and separators. Untreated timber may be held at the border or ordered replaced — a line you never see in a quote but which shows the day the file stops.
Why two files rather than one?Because Jordan is not a member of the Gulf customs union. An export declaration is opened on the Saudi side and an import declaration on the Jordanian side, each with its own documents. And we prepare both two days before loading rather than when the truck reaches the crossing.
I am a Jordanian resident returning for good — what is my position?Your shipment falls under the personal effects exemption on three conditions: that the goods are used and for your home, that you hold proof of your return, and that your inventory is itemised by name and count. And the most dangerous thing is mixing new appliances in their wrapping into the shipment — it can push the whole thing out of its classification.
How much does shipping a car from Jeddah to Jordan cost? The shipping alone: a saloon SAR 2,500 to 3,800, a family SUV SAR 3,000 to 4,500, and a luxury vehicle enclosed SAR 4,500 to 7,200. And the Jordanian duty is an entirely separate line we calculate for you before booking — and if selling it here costs less, we say so plainly.
Do you ship from a single carton?Yes, with no minimum — one box is SAR 270 to 400 up to thirty kilograms. And six to ten bring each one’s share down to between SAR 170 and 250.
What documents are required? For your furniture: your ID and your passport — required here unlike the Gulf — plus the consignee’s details, a contents inventory, a Fasah authorisation, and proof of your return if you want the exemption. For your vehicle: the registration, a finance statement, plate cancellation, traffic approval and its full details.
Do you cover Aqaba, Petra and the south?Yes: Karak, Tafilah, Maan and Aqaba. But note the south is dearer by road because the cargo enters from the north and then crosses the whole of Jordan — and here in particular we suggest costing sea via Aqaba.
When does the duration lengthen? In summer — the residents’ return season — and at holidays when Halat Ammar is congested. And in winter fog and cold may slow the northern road around Tabuk.
And the reverse — from Jordan to Jeddah?Yes, on the same route and with the same two files reversed. But what is barred from entering the Kingdom is wider than what is barred from leaving it, foremost foodstuffs and agricultural products.

In summary

Jordan is the first destination in the Jeddah series to step outside the Gulf rules entirely.

Your route climbs north through Madinah and Tabuk to Halat Ammar and never passes Riyadh — which means anyone consolidating your cargo in Riyadh makes it travel east and then north for no reason.

And your file is opened twice rather than once, because Jordan sits outside the customs union. Your vehicle’s duty is not five per cent but a different system that may reach a large proportion of its value — and anyone answering with the Gulf figure is copying what does not apply.

And one advantage remains that only Jeddah holds: Aqaba Port on your own sea. We mention it because it may bring you to your door rather than having your cargo enter northern Jordan only to cross the whole country southward.
